Hello 👋
One more week has come by, and it’s time for you to get up to date with all the cool stuff going on in the Ecommerce world. Don’t forget to drop a comment in the end with your thoughts and opinions.
5 - Direct Mail is coming back?!
How do you feel when you get a letter or a postcard in your mailbox? Yes, an old fashion paper message delivered to you by post. Pretty special, right?
There was a time your mailbox was full and your email inbox not that much. Now the opposite is truth. So much so, that a study concluded that 50% of consumers actually prefer direct mail over email communication. Even Klaviyo is looking closely into this reality and working towards implementation with direct mail providers.
4 - TikTok Shop in the US
TikTok's launch of TikTok Shop in the US is set to revolutionize social commerce. Users can shop directly from videos and live streams, enhancing product discovery. Notably, Shopify has seamlessly integrated with TikTok Shop, allowing merchants to sync inventory, manage orders, and run ad campaigns directly from their Shopify admin. This integration offers a powerful tool for businesses to tap into TikTok's vast, ready-to-buy audience, create engaging content, and streamline their operations.
With TikTok's effective content creation tools and Shopify's support, brands can showcase products, attract new customers, and drive sales in a simplified and efficient manner
3 - Ecommerce Shift Towards Customer Retention and Growth
Chargebee's 2023 State of Industry Report highlights a significant shift in eCommerce, where 87% of businesses now prioritize customer retention over traditional acquisition methods. The report reveals that 96% of subscription-based companies believe they can address reasons for customer cancellations, emphasizing the opportunity for churn management. To combat rising churn, businesses are investing more in technology (51%), initiatives (32%), and loyalty programs (27%). Despite challenges, there's optimism, with 79% of companies anticipating growth. This report underscores the crucial role of customer retention and adaptation to changing consumer behaviors in today's eCommerce landscape.
2 - Shopify becomes an AI-powered sidekick
Miqdad Jaffer, Shopify's Director of Product, envisions a future where AI revolutionizes the user experience on the platform. According to Jaffer, AI will empower merchants to focus on business growth rather than struggling with platform complexities. Sidekick allows users to perform tasks simply by using natural language commands, making it easier to manage various aspects of their online stores, from adjusting prices to analyzing sales trends.
Jaffer and Shopify's CEO, Tobi Lütke, aim to ensure that AI enhances user experiences without taking over, emphasizing that the decision-making process should remain with the merchant. Sidekick's potential for rapid idea-to-reality transformation and its ability to leverage different types of media like text, images, and videos offer a promising path for Shopify's innovation in the AI-driven eCommerce landscape.
1 - MrBeast will promote a Shopify Business
