What's the difference between Shopify Experts and Shopify Partners?
When it comes to Shopify, there are two main terms that often get used interchangeably: Shopify Partners and Shopify Experts.
While they may seem similar, they actually refer to two different types of relationships with the platform.
As a Shopify Partner, you are essentially an affiliate of the platform. This means that you can earn money by referring new customers to Shopify using a unique referral link that tracks your influence. Whether you are a blogger, social media influencer, or someone with a website that gets a lot of traffic, becoming a Shopify Partner can be a great way to earn passive income.
On the other hand, becoming a Shopify Expert means that you have demonstrated your expertise in a particular area related to ecommerce, such as web design, development, or marketing. Shopify Experts are evaluated based on their skills and experience, and once approved, they can start receiving potential job opportunities from Shopify's own merchants. However, it's important to note that in order to become a Shopify Expert, you first need to be a Shopify Partner.
But why would someone want to become a Shopify Expert?
Well, for starters, it can be a great way to expand your sales channels and potentially grow your business. Additionally, becoming a Shopify Expert also gives you access to some of Shopify's exclusive resources, such as the Checkout API. This API allows developers to build custom checkout experiences for Shopify merchants, which can be a valuable tool for anyone looking to create unique ecommerce solutions.
While Shopify Partners and Shopify Experts may seem similar, they actually represent two different levels of engagement with the platform. Becoming a Shopify Partner allows you to earn money by referring new customers, while becoming a Shopify Expert is a way to demonstrate your expertise and potentially receive job opportunities from Shopify's own merchants. By understanding the differences between these two terms, you can make an informed decision about which path is right for you.
